Medicare Part A is a federal health insurance program that provides coverage for hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, home health care, and hospice care. It is available to individuals over the age of 65 and some younger individuals who are disabled or have end-stage renal disease. Medicare Part A helps to cover the cost of inpatient hospital stays, as well as certain services related to these stays such as lab tests and x-rays. It also covers some home health services, such as physical therapy and speech therapy. In addition, it covers certain types of hospice care for those with terminal illnesses. Medicare Part A is an important part of any healthcare plan and can help individuals receive the medical attention they need when they need it most.
